Valerie Joan Tagwira is a medical doctor who graduated from the University of Zimbabwe’s Medical School in 1997. A member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK), she is currently working in London. Valerie has a strong interest in health-related and developmental issues that affect women. The Uncertainty of Hope (Weaver Press: Harare, 2007; Jacana Media, Johannesburg, 2008), which won the NAMA award in 2008, is her first novel. Valerie was published in Women Writing Zimbabwe (2008).
