Dominant historical narratives and ‘official’ critical approach(es) have been routinely criticised for adopting the biases and omissions of colonialist historiography. It is said they have a tendency to celebrate ‘great’ men or ‘great’ literary characters at the expense of subaltern masses, especially, in this case, children.
